I’m not sure if I have enough reason to, but I believe that Japanese people generally are so neat because of their culture. From how they build houses, to how they make cartoons, their minimalism feels warm and natural, not cold.

I wanted to be like this myself but I decided that I won’t achieve that kind of neatness without the accompanying cultural changes. On the flip side, I’ve also convinced myself it’s a vain and unoriginal pursuit. I’ve come to appreciate a little bit of clutter now, which I accept as personality.
